About us

Aguacheiro Design Multimédia is a creative and innovative multimedia production company that offers high quality audiovisual/visual communication solutions, and professional practical trainings. We are specialized in documentary film, institutional videos, event & short videos, photography, communication design, and translations, but we are constantly investigating other art forms to incorporate in our work.


Our mission is to promote art in all of it’s forms in Mozambique and abroad. We are especially proud of our social responsibility project “supporting local artists for local reasons” that helps selected local artists by providing them with graphic design, photography or multimedia work free of charge.

The films produced by Aguacheiro Multimédia have won international awards, and recognition at international & national film festivals.

David Aguacheiro is a Mozambican filmmaker, multidisciplinary artist, photographer and graphic designer. He has an MA in Design and Multimedia, and participated in study exchanges in film, photography and graphic design at the Icelandic Academy of the Arts – Reykjavik, and the Art Academy – Oslo.

He has more than 19 years work experience in the mozambican creative sector, having worked on photo & video productions in all provinces of the country, in both rural and urban settings. He is fluent in Changana, Ronga & Chuabo, and in addition it understands several languages ​​in the different provinces.

He’s participated in several national and international biennals & exhibitions, amongst which Liverpool Biennal 2022, “African Identities” exhibition at Biennal di Venezia 2022, “Being and Becoming” at !Kauru Contemporary Art from Africa – Pretoria (2016), and the residencies SLOW Art “Social Life of Waste” between South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique (2016-2017), and Catchupa Factory – Mindelo, Cape Verde (2019). His documentary films, photography and paintings have won international recognition & awards.

He is the co-founder and creative director of Aguacheiro Design & Multimedia since 2013, a founding member of the first Mozambican VideoArt association Video Arte Moçambique, and the director and co-founder of emptyroom.art, an art space in Maputo that started in 2019. He was a lecturer in Film and Audiovisual Media at the Superior Institute for Arts and Culture Maputo between 2015-2020.

Tina Krüger, from Katemin – Germany, is a multidisciplinary artist, photographer, documentary filmmaker, and communication designer with an MA in Visual Anthropology (cum laude) from Leiden University, The Netherlands. Since 2008 she lives and works in Maputo, Mozambique.

She has more than 9 years work experience in the mozambican creative sector, having worked on photo & video productions in all provinces of the country, in both rural and urban settings. She also has experience in qualitative field research using ethnographic and visual anthropology methods. She is fluent in Portuguese, English and German, with several years experience translating between the three.

She has exhibited her work in Mozambique and abroad, highlighting the painting series ‘Unconditioned Bodies’ at Joburg Art Fair 2020, ‘Motherhood’ a permanent photo exhibition in the Maternity Ward at Maputo Central Hospital, and participated in art residencies such as Catchupa Factory – Mindelo, Cape Verde (2021) and DemocraSEE Maputo (2020). Her documentary films and videoart have won several awards at international film festivals.

She is the co-founder and creative director of Aguacheiro Design & Multimedia since 2013. For two years (2017-2018) she was a lecturer for creative research and videoart in the BA Film & Multimedia program at the Arts and Culture University in Maputo. She is the director and co-founder of emptyroom.art, an international art space based in Maputo since 2019.
