Aguacheiro Design Multimédia is a creative and innovative multimedia production company that offers high quality audiovisual/visual communication solutions, and professional practical trainings. It was founded in 2013 by David Aguacheiro and Tina Krüger. We are specialized in Documentary Film, Event Videos, Photography, and Communication Design, but we are constantly investigating other art forms to incorporate in our work.
Our mission is to promote art in all of it’s forms in Mozambique and abroad. We are especially proud of our social responsibility project “Supporting local artists for local reasons” that helps selected local artists by providing them with graphic design, photography or multimedia work free of charge.
Aguacheiro Design & Multimedia won the Impact Award for “Gold of Agriculture” at the 2015 SIMA – Social Impact Media Awards. Two of the companie’s films were official selections at international and national film festivals.
David Aguacheiro is a filmmaker, photographer and communication designer. He graduated in graphic design at the National Visual Arts School Maputo (ENAV), obtained his BA in Design at the Superior Institute for Arts and Culture in Maputo (ISArC), where he is now a lecturer for the Film and Audiovisual Media study program. He is currently finishing his MA in Design and Multimedia at the UP in Maputo. He has a number of study experiences abroad in the areas of film, photography and graphic design at the Icelandic Academy of the Arts in Reykjavik, the Art Academy in Oslo, and at the International People’s College in Helsingør, Denmark. Besides this he has participated in various workshops in the areas of film editing, camera, stop motion, lighting techniques, and more. He has over 12 years professional working experience as a freelancer in the creative industry in Maputo, his clients at the time including Festival Marrabenta, Festival Kinani and many acclaimed musicians and dancers. His independent artist works have won him a large number of national awards and international recognition.
Tina Krüger is a filmmaker, anthropologist, photographer and communication designer. She graduated her MA in Visual Anthropology Cum Laude at the University Leiden, Netherlands. Her undergraduate degree is in Social and Cultural Anthropology, and Portuguese Studies from the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany. She is a lecturer for Audiovisual Research Methodologies and VideoArt at the Superior Institute for Arts and Culture in Maputo. Her professional experience prior to her work at Aguacheiro Multimedia includes qualitative field research employing visual methods, and work at the Institue for Visual Ethnography (IVE), the Göttingen International Ethnographic Film Festival (GIEFF), the Max Planck Institue for the study of religious and ethnic diversity and the production of a documentary for the student council (asta) of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. Her independent documentary and VideoArt productions have gained wide international recognition and won a number of prizes and awards, foremost the documentary Living Art (2017) and the VideoArt Kitchen’s Orchestra (2014).
